Become an OMG-certified SysML v2 Model User

SysML v2 is the most significant evolution of the standard since 2007: not an update, but a complete redesign that introduces a textual notation alongside the graphical one. ONE-SYS’s SysML v2 Model User course prepares you for the OMG certification exam, the entry-level certification for the new v2 series and the first step towards working in teams that adopt the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach. You will learn to interpret SysML v2 models that describe the behaviour, structure and requirements of a complex system.

What you will learn

The SysML v2 Model User course provides you with the fundamental skills needed to read and interpret a SysML v2 model, even in complex business contexts. It is designed to train professionals who can contribute effectively within a systems engineering team using the MBSE approach. By the end of the course, you will be able to understand and analyse the constructs defined by the SysML v2 standard, with a focus on the information that a user needs to be able to extract from an existing model.

Interpreting SysML v2 models in textual and graphical notation

Version 2 introduces a textual notation alongside the graphical one. You will learn how to read both and navigate an existing model to contribute to the analysis of the system.

Get familiar with the OMG SysML v2.0 standard

You will learn about the OMG standard on which SysML v2 is based, including the terminology, modelling rules and objectives of the model-based approach to systems engineering.

Mastering the fundamental concepts: elements, definitions and structures

You will explore the Foundations (elements and relationships, dependencies, packages, definition and usage, attributes, enumerations, occurrences) and the Structure (items, parts, ports, connections, interfaces, allocations), which together account for over half of the exam.

Understanding behaviour, requirements and use cases

You will practise working with behaviour diagrams (actions, states, calculations, flows and messages) and with requirement, constraint and case constructs (analysis, verification and use cases), developing the ability to follow the functional logic of the system and assess its consistency.
